GuardBee Browser Extension Privacy Policy
This page explains what data the GuardBee Security Check Chrome extension accesses, and what it never collects.
1. What the extension does
GuardBee Security Check reads the HTTP response headers of the tab you have open (HTTPS, HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, and similar) to compute a security grade (AโF), shown on the toolbar and in the popup.
2. Data it accesses
- The active tab's URL (host and path)
- HTTP response headers of the pages you visit
This data is processed in your browser, on the fly, solely to compute the grade.
3. What we do not collect or transmit
- No data is sent to GuardBee servers or any third party
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs are used
- Results are kept per-tab only for the browser session (chrome.storage.session) and are cleared when the browser closes
4. Why the permissions are requested
- webRequest + host permission on all sites: to read response headers of any site you visit
- storage: to hold the latest result per tab temporarily
- tabs: to know which tab is currently active
5. Link to app.guardbee.ai
Clicking "Scan with GuardBee" in the popup opens app.guardbee.ai in a new tab with the active tab's URL โ a normal, user-initiated navigation, not a background data submission. Actions on app.guardbee.ai are covered by its main Privacy Policy.
